Green Frog Power are to trial a 100% renewable biofuel

In 2016 Green Frog will be undertaking long term testing of a number of types of 100% renewable biofuel. In each case the supply chain has been audited to verify the manufacturers claims to ensure the fuel is genuinely renewable and is not taking from the human food chain.

Paul Lawson Green Frogs Head of Operations is realistic about the challenges “ we are actively seeking ways to reduce our dependence as a company on fossil fuel. The generators we have each have to be modified to allow them to run on these new and cutting edge fuels. If these tests prove successful we will be looking to roll this program out across the most suitable generators in our fleet. This of course is in addition to our 110% carbon offset program.

The testing will be carried over the whole year to allow for differing weather conditions. Impacts on air quality will also be assessed by monitoring at the test sites “This is probably the most comprehensive long term test of these biofuel types in the power industry to date” says Alan Dempsey of Genovate the retained operations and maintenance contractor to Green Frog Power and who will oversee the testing process.
